02 · Car mould removal

Mould in a car is an enclosed-space problem

A cabin concentrates airborne particles. Kids in the back seat, anyone with asthma, and older passengers share that air every trip. We treat cars at a set $999.

  1. Gear up. Breathing mould spores is a health risk, so we wear a proper mask and gloves for the whole job.
  2. Suck it out, don’t spread it. Specialist extraction pulls spores out of the seats and carpet instead of brushing them into the air.
  3. Treat and dry. Antimicrobial treatment made for car interiors, then a proper dry-out. That’s hours, not a quick wipe.
  4. Find the leak. We hunt down where the damp is getting in and bag up the mess for careful disposal, so it’s less likely to come back.

A detail makes your car look good. Mould removal is slower, more careful work, with real risk to the bloke doing it. That’s what the price covers.

  • Respiratory and asthma risk. The WHO’s dampness and mould guidelines found higher rates of respiratory symptoms and asthma flare-ups in damp or mouldy environments.
  • Children and lower immunity. Queensland Health notes people with asthma, mould allergy, lung disease or another chronic illness, and older people, are more likely to be affected.
  • Spores move through the vents. The blower recirculates cabin air. Growth in carpet or under seats can travel through the aircon path.
  • A wipe does not finish it. If the moisture remains, growth returns. Queensland Health advises against dry-brushing mould.

Houses and apartments are $499 per room, with a 3-room minimum (from $1,497). The final price depends on size and a free inspection. Apartments are the same rate as houses.

Why home mould matters

  • Breathing and asthma. WHO guidance links damp or mouldy buildings with higher rates of respiratory symptoms and asthma flare-ups.
  • Kids, older people, lower immunity. Queensland Health notes these groups are more likely to be affected.
  • Spores travel in shared air. Through rooms and ducted aircon — a patch is not always only that room’s problem.
  • SEQ humidity. Warm, humid conditions favour growth on ceilings, in wardrobes and in wet areas.

What do I need to have ready?

Access to a standard power point and a garden tap. If that is not possible, mention it in the notes and we will discuss alternatives.

How long does a detail take?

About 2 to 2.5 hours for Essential, 2.5 to 3.5 hours for Elevated and 3.5 to 5 hours for Pro, depending on the size and condition of the vehicle.

Can I change or cancel?

Yes. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

Are the prices fixed?

Car mould removal is a set $999 and caravan mould removal is $1,299. Detailing prices are starting prices: a very large or very dirty vehicle can cost more, and Trent confirms the price before the job.

We clean commercial fleets on site. Aussie Gleam currently cleans the Southern Cross Transit bus fleet. $70 per bus with a minimum of 15 buses. Smaller jobs are $120 per hour.
